WHO WE ARE

General

H4TM4N HK is a broad-spectrum power industry consultancy with comprehensive international knowledge, currently concentrating on the Nigerian power sector. We act as advisors, representatives, negotiators and client’s engineers.

While we are solidly technically based most of our work is commercial in nature, particularly acting as commercial engineers in the drafting and negotiation of power contracts.

International Renewable Energy Certification (I-REC)

The I-REC attribute tracking system allows large international consumers to track and verify progress towards their environmental goals. This gives all I-REC system participants the ability to track attributes of (renewable) electricity production from their location of generation to their place of consumption. The current annual growth in I-REC issuance is greater than 100%, which given the ongoing increasing attention to environmental issues is expected to continue.

We have been involved in attribute contracting since we supervised the first attribute contract implementation in the UK privatisation. We were founder members of the European Guarantees of Origin system and have recently assisted in Nigeria becoming a registered I-REC country.

We act as representative and registrant to I-REC generators and traders in Nigeria, Turkey and Africa.

Nigeria and Africa

We have been operating in Africa since 2003 and in Nigeria since 2008 where we have principally worked for government entities: the Ministry, the Regulator, BPE, NDPHC, PHCN then NBET and TCN. We have more recently worked for solar and hydro generation developers.

Our first work in Nigeria was to draft and agree a model Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Regulator. This was then used as the basis for the Privatisation PPAs where we advised.

Our core technical area is transmission and our model of the NESI power system is up to date and was used to deliver a Transmission Gap Analysis to the World Bank.

History

H4TM4N HK was founded in Hong Kong in 2012, the antecedent company was Campbell Carr Ltd founded in UK in 1988 who advised the Distributors in the UK privatisation. The legal address is in Hong Kong with operational offices in London and Abuja. We have worked in twenty-nine countries, in Africa: Ethiopia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Zambia and Nigeria, and we currently have a group of international and Nigerian experts who work with us regularly.
